Ma Blacks at Gymkhana today
The Black Missionaries and Anthony Makondetsa were supposed to perform at Chancellor College in Zomba last Friday but they failed to show up for the Chanco performance for the Final Year Students Farewell dinner event because they had also committed to a show organised by Entertainers Promotions at Motel Paradise the same day.
The students had to opt for Gwamba and Dan Lu who performed at the event.
To make up for the show, the Black Missionaries and Anthony Makondetsa will perform at Gymkhana Club in Zomba today.
In an interview, Chancellor College Students’ Union Speaker, Charles Fwataki said they already paid the Black Missionaries K250 000 on April 29, but the band gave them a last minute excuse saying they had another show.
“We are hoping this time they will show up and that we will have a good time. They have assured us that they will not let us down this time,” said Fwataki.
The Speaker said they were supposed to hold the show on May 23, but it was cancelled because of the post-election tension and they agreed to settle for last Friday.
